Our commitment
YuvalDesign is committed to ensuring this website is accessible to the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. We work to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, which forms the basis of Israeli Standard IS 5568.
Accessibility is not a feature — it is a baseline. For a studio that works extensively with academic, scientific and institutional clients, many of whom are themselves legally required to maintain accessible communications, it would be inconsistent to hold our own site to a lower standard.
Conformance status
This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partial conformance means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the standard. The known limitations are described below.
Standard: Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA
Israeli standard: IS 5568 (based on WCAG 2.1)

What works well
- All pages have a descriptive
<title>and a logical heading hierarchy (one H1, structured H2s) - The page language is declared correctly (
lang="en") - All form fields have associated
<label>elements - Colour contrast meets AA requirements for all body text, headings and interactive elements
- Keyboard focus indicators are visible on all interactive elements
- A skip-to-content link is available at the top of each page
- The navigation is keyboard-operable and includes ARIA landmark roles
- The project popup dialog uses
role="dialog"andaria-modal="true"and can be dismissed with the Escape key - Decorative SVG icons are marked
aria-hidden="true"
Known limitations
The following issues are known and are being addressed:
| Issue | Affects | Workaround / Plan |
|---|---|---|
| The services page project sample grid uses mouse-only hover to reveal project titles | Keyboard users | Project titles are also available in the popup which is keyboard accessible. A full keyboard-visible label solution is planned for the next revision |
| Some decorative background lines and grid elements may be announced by older screen readers | Screen readers | These elements use aria-hidden="true" in the current build. Testing with additional screen readers is ongoing |
Technical approach
This website is built with semantic HTML5, with CSS for presentation and JavaScript for interactive components. No third-party accessibility overlay or widget is used — we prefer to address accessibility at the source rather than apply a patch on top.
The site has been tested with keyboard navigation and with browser-based automated tools (WAVE, axe DevTools). Manual screen reader testing with NVDA on Windows is in progress.
